HGCA is on the road throughout the year at events up and down the country. Events are a great opportunity to meet HGCA staff face-to-face, find out about HGCA activity, pick up new publications and hear the latest independent information.

Throughout the autumn and winter, HGCA hosts a series of regional events aimed at growers. Most of these are free to levy-payers. Our regular programme includes:

    latest grain and oilseeds market outlook and practical tips on planning a resilient marketing strategy to suit your business needs
  • Agronomy Workshops
    looking at the latest technical developments to come out of HGCA’s extensive programme of research, including fungicide performance
  • HGCA/SRUC Events
    in partnership with SRUC, tailored technical workshop with the latest information from HGCA’s research programme in Scotland
  • Malting Barley Breakfasts
    in association with MAGB, topical workshop focusing on the technical and marketing challenges of growing quality malting barley, including a talk by a maltster
  • Milling Wheat Breakfasts
    in association with nabim, topical workshop focusing on the technical and marketing challenges of growing quality malting barley, including a talk by a maltster
  • Meet the Processor
    in partnership with the supply chain, this HGCA campaign facilitates and promotes grower visits to local processors such as mills, maltings, export facilities and feed compounders

HGCA conferences

  • Grain Market Outlook Conference
    held annually in October, this headline conference is aimed at the whole arable supply chain and looks at the key drivers for grain and oilseeds markets in the coming season as well as exploring current political, social and economic issues affecting the industry
  • Agronomists Conference
    held annually in December, this conference is aimed at agronomists and advisers, with topical in-depth presentations on the latest scientific developments coming out of HGCA’s research programme, including a first look at annual fungicide performance results
  • Research and Development Conference – aimed at the research community, this conference takes a strategic view of HGCA’s investment in science to tackle the challenges facing the industry
